i got up this morning thinking about whether or not to go walking or to try jogging again. due to illness, i hadn't done my morning walk since sunday morning, so i decided that, in spite of my conversation with jerry on sunday morning about trying jogging again in the next week or so, i would go walking at the place i normally go in the morning.
but, when i arrived at my normal spot there was yellow construction tape over the entrance to the track. luckily i had dragged myself out of bed earlier than normal, so i had time to drive over to the shades creek greenway. while driving i was attempting to log onto my gmail account on my phone so i could look up the e-mail from cheryl about the beginners jogging plan that i had utterly failed at in december, a task i was not looking forward to since trying to search for e-mail from a cell phone is a frustrating task. after a few minutes, i gave up trying to do this while driving, settling for the idea that i would just do a short walk when i arrived.
but, at the exact moment i was about to turn into the parking lot of the brookwood mall, bart and cheryl appeared at the crosswalk, having just completed their run. after chatting with bart for a minute i asked cheryl about the running plan. she reminded me that it was 4 mins walking, 1 min jogging, 6 reps for the first week.
i took this fortuitous series of events as a sign that maybe i should try jogging again. so...i did.
it was infinitely better and much easier than when i tried it back in december, well...the last two reps were a little rough. but, overall i am excited about switch my exercise plan to something a little more high intensity.
